Adam Cole told Amman FM: “Throughout my career in various fields, I have never had a job before like my work on the Sultanate of Oman English Radio. This work, which I love very much, was for me the first experience in the field of radio. It allowed me to present programs that reach a large segment of listeners, and I enjoyed cooperation.” And dealing with many colleagues who contributed with me in directing many radio programs that will always remain in my memory. Radio is witnessing continuous development, and I have gained a lot since my beginnings in it, and what I also witness today is the presence of many creative young people who are looking forward to presenting their energies and skills. In radio work, which makes the convoy move non-stop to present everything new and up-to-date in Jordan.
As for the topics that we address, we always aim to provide what is of interest to the listener in the local context, whether at the level of cultural and public affairs, or to cover national and religious events. We always aim for the focus of the preparation to be focused on the Sultanate and to enhance the rapid development that it hosts. I have become convinced that the work The radio station must follow this path in order to complement and keep pace with the developments taking place in reality, so that the listening audience is in constant interaction and so that the purposeful programs they receive are closely linked to their identity.
- I communicated with people on a daily basis in various aspects and regions. Did it add a lot to you about the nature of life in Amman?
As I mentioned earlier, the local character of radio programs has contributed to a lot. Through my daily communication with a large segment of people, including those in charge of various official institutions, I hold live radio interviews that reach the English-speaking audience, or cover local events and events in a way that celebrates authentic Omani culture. Hosting young people to present their projects and for their peers to benefit from their experiences, this contributed to introducing me personally to the local culture and bringing me closer to it more and more so that I could convey the impressions I gained and the experiences I gleaned to the listening audience.
- You like to travel. Describe Oman for us, not as a radio employee, but as someone who has traveled and seen Oman from different aspects?
I love traveling a lot. I travel to my first country, the United Kingdom, and to the countries of Asia and Europe, looking to explore nature and listen to the musical diversity that is found in every destination I go to. But from the moment I travel outside of Oman, I feel a great longing to return. After the years I spent there, I find... It contains the tranquility of the heart, comfort and reassurance, and it is the same feeling that comes over me as soon as I set foot on its land after my return from any short tour outside the Sultanate, and the feelings of tranquility, security and safety that Oman is full of are exactly what I feel when I see the features of the Sultanate of mountains, coasts and the blue of the water slowly becoming more complete as I stare. From the plane window and witnessing its completion before my eyes.
- The most important milestones of your life in the Sultanate, in various fields?
I have had many opportunities in the Sultanate since I came to it, as I worked in the field of music and the entertainment sector for many years, and then I continued my journey as a music teacher for eight years at the American School in Muscat, and then the British School for many more years, and thanks to my continuous communication with various institutions, I was able And creative individuals to present artistic entertainment shows, and then I had radio work, which I consider the result of my great interest in music and sound since I was young. This is a summary of my stations since my arrival to the Sultanate, which I will never forget, especially since they represented a challenge and a personal experience for me that I am very proud of.
- What is your impression about investing in Oman, and do you advise others from foreign countries to come to Oman and learn about investment aspects?
I believe that there are many investment opportunities in the Sultanate, especially in the field of tourism, entertainment and art, and there are many Omani youth talents that can be supported financially to carry out innovative activities and businesses that draw on their ideas and creativity, so that they are employed in sectors that stimulate the economy in various fields, including handicrafts and crafts. The Sultanate is famous for its artistic and creative activities related to the visual, digital, audio-visual, musical, audio, etc. arts, and it is a new trend that has been noticed by many young men and women in the Sultanate.
I also believe that the unique characteristics that the Sultanate possesses, starting with human resources, passing through tourism components, and ending with the open-mindedness enjoyed by those who live in Oman, whether citizens or residents, are encouraging elements for investment and contribution to the existing wheel of development.
- After many years of your presence in the Sultanate, do you have a word to address to Omanis, expatriates, etc.?
One of the most important elements and social components that I have felt and continue to experience in the Sultanate are the bonds of tolerance, kindness, openness, coexistence, and love of learning about different cultures among people, which is a quality that I find worthy of celebration by everyone who resides and lives on this land. The Sultanate has witnessed and is witnessing continuous and rapid developments since the first time it was introduced to it, but these authentic features are eternal and constant.
